Public invited to hear talk on media mistakes

NORTHEAST PHOENIX - The public can attend a panel discussion titled "Why journalists get it wrong" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the clubhouse at the Legend at Kierland Apartments, 6735 E. Greenway Parkway.

The panel will discuss how errors make it into the newspaper or into news broadcasts, what can both journalists and sources do to prevent mistakes, and what should the public know about the newsgathering process that causes the errors they see.

The event is free.
